Our Biography
Little Boys is a Power Rock duo that was born in the winter of 2020 in Japan, the result of a bet on a plane: Elle (Laura) on guitar and vocals, and Esse (Sergio) on drums. After experiences in various bands and projects, as well as collaborations with prominent Italian artists, they unite in this two-person formation, drawn by the beauty of musical subtraction.
Elle, always at the center of the projects she has participated in, stands out for her eccentric personality, which is reflected in her countless style changes. A writer and multifaceted artist, she began her musical career as a pianist before transitioning to electric guitar, played in a unique way – being left-handed, she plays it backward without turning the strings. This style perfectly embodies Elle’s philosophy, as she loves to create challenges to feel authentic and push her limits.
Esse, on the other hand, is more reserved and calm, and this diversity enriches the band, creating a tight-knit dynamic between the two. Their passion for vintage sound leads them to the recording studios of Verona Sotto Il Mare Records, known for their ability to capture a raw and faithful sound.
Elle, whose real name is Laura Bertone, has been “ARIA”, but above all, fire. Raised in the province of Brescia, after obtaining a degree in Psychology, she decides to dedicate herself entirely to music. She immerses herself in the study of electric guitar, composing her songs like a painter, following a stream of consciousness free from schemes. A lover of vintage and vinyl, she avoids rigid musical categorizations so as not to hinder her creative process. Inspired by philosophy and poetry, she writes monologues on the deeper reflections of the human soul, living by night and shunning sunlight, as her creativity ignites in the shadows.
Esse, Sergio Pirotta, was born in 1982 into a lower-middle-class family far from the arts. After a serene childhood, he discovers the fragility of life in adolescence, transforming this awareness into motivation for his work. He studies fine arts at Brera but soon leaves the academic environment to sincerely dedicate himself to music, playing electric bass in various rock bands. He meets Elle on a rediscovery journey, and together they form the Absurda, focusing on arrangements and sound design.
At the beginning of the pandemic, he recycles a Tamburo T5 drum kit from his old drummer and gifts Elle a Supro Holiday guitar, giving rise to a new way of conceiving songs. They write 16 tracks, which will be recorded at Sotto Il Mare Studios, leading to their debut album, “Little Boys”, released at the end of 2022. This work represents a return to essence, with sixteen tracks recorded without synthetic processing.
The single “Esagera” and its music video, released on May 18, 2023, begin to capture critical attention, leading the band to perform concerts across Italy under the label Engine Records. In 2024, they release their second album “Ricordati che devi morire”, with the collaboration of Japanese sound technicians such as Toshikazu Yoshioka and Kazunori Okamoto. The single “Ricordati che devi morire” ranks in the top positions of MTV Italy, leading to interviews, press coverage, and radio airplay.
They embark on their first tour in Europe and release a single in 2024, “Greed”, in collaboration with Japanese artist Ikumi Tanuma, thus starting a tour in Japan, where they receive positive feedback and media coverage. They record the music video for “Una rivale” in Shibuya, involving all their fans, and return for a second tour in October of the same year, sharing the stage with bands like King Brothers and DURAN.
